Spring Framework 5 is Coming in Late July 2017
Today I'm joined by John Thompson to talk about the newest release of the Spring Framework.
Spring hasn't seen an update since 2013, so version 5 will be released to a bit of fanfare.
The biggest updates to Spring 5.0 will be that it's making use of Java 8, which means that your application will need to adopt Java 8 in order to use Spring 5.
The other big talking point with Spring 5.0 is its new “reactive and non-blocking web framework”.
With reactive and non-blocking programming you're going to be writing code in a more functional style that will be more “performant” under load.
